Coming Soon to Australia – MEAN WELL’S 480-WATT DIN Rail DC to DC Converter

10 July 2020

MEAN WELL has recently expanded their range of DIN rail DC to DC converters to include a 480-WATT series, the DDR-480.

The new DDR-480 has been designed to meet railway and Australian safety standards.

Product is due off the production line within the next few weeks, with the first stocks arriving in Australia during September 2020.

The MEAN WELL DDR-480 series has an ultra-slim enclosure design with a width of only 85.5mm.

It can be easily fitted to TS-35/7.5 or 15 standard DIN rails without having to worry about available space.

There are three output voltage options: 12VDC, 24VDC and 48VDC.

You also have the choice of three input voltage ranges:

  • 16.8 ~ 33.6Vdc

  • 33.6 ~ 67.2Vdc

  • 67.2 ~ 154Vdc

The product design also includes outstanding features such as a 2:1 wide input range, 4000Vdc I/O isolation, and a wide operating temperature range of -40~ +80°C.

The DDR-480's 150% peak load capability ensures it can cope with most spikes.

The current sharing function allows you to connect up to 4 units in parallel to give a total power output of 1920 WATTS

The DDR-480 series DC to DC converters are compliant with safety standard AS/NZS62368.1for audio/video, information and communication technology equipment, and EN50155 railway safety standards.

This makes the DDR-480 ideal for providing additional system insulation, use in DC UPS systems, battery voltage regulation, and powering onboard passenger information systems, etc.
